Voter turnout is low in the United States compared to other democracies. Turnout is also low in Texas compared to the other states. Write an essay (2-3 pages) addressing the following questions:
1) How can voter turnout be increased in Texas? Should Texas employ same-day registration? Should Texas use a shorter ballot in its elections? Should Texas hold less frequent elections? Why or why not?
2) If voter turnout among Hispanics increases, how do you think that would affect the landscape of Texas politics? Which political party would benefit? Why?
