Choose one ancient and one medieval or Renaissance source to analyze.
• What views on women, or biographical details about particular women, do the sources hold in common? What is the evidence that the later source is drawing
directly from the ancient one?
• How does the author innovate in their approach to the modern source? Are there differences in the author’s attitudes towards women or the biographical details of certain women?
• How do you think the cultural context of each source affects the authors’ approach to their subjects?
