The Romantic Period

The Romantic Period saw a many shifts in culture and the human experience occurring throughout the era.

The era itself witnessed a plethora of changes which challenged the established standards and states of belief in society. For example, some of these changes were hinged on the shift from an agrarian society to an industrial society. This inevitably helped to change and develop the social consciousness of society.
Using works we have discussed up until this point in the course, utilize one or all of the concepts we have discussed (i.e. Hegelian Synthesis, Sublime Writing, or Dialectics) and show how the rise of consciousness stems from the competing/polemic standards and values in society.
